Diagram Celebrates International Women's Day
Jennifer Barangan Director of Talent Support#Events, #News & Culture
Diagram's Jen Barangan shares how we are celebrating International Women's Day 2019.
Happy International Women’s Day (IWD). According to the IWD website, “IWD provides an important moment to showcase commitment to women's equality, launch new initiatives and action, celebrate women's achievements, raise awareness, highlight gender parity gains and more.”
The 2019 Campaign for IWD is #balanceforbetter. This campaign is focused on building a gender-balanced world, “Balance is not a women's issue, it's a business issue. The race is on for the gender-balanced boardroom, a gender-balanced government, gender-balanced media coverage, a gender-balance of employees, more gender-balance in wealth, gender-balanced sports coverage ...Gender balance is essential for economies and communities to thrive.”
At Diagram, we are acknowledging International Women’s Day with several activities throughout the day. All of our women staff are highlighted in a special pop up art gallery, Women of Diagram.
We have a thank you card station where employees are encouraged to write a thank you note to a female figure who has impacted their life. At lunchtime, we’ll gather for a TED talk and discussion on Allyship and how we can continue to support each other in the workplace. Throughout the day, we’ll be blasting an all-female playlist—a compilation of powerhouse tunes from female artists featuring specific requests from our women employees.
I am honored to share profiles of a few of our amazing Diagram women.
